Final Destination Returns… But Was It Worth the Wait?

It’s kind of wild to think about, but the last time a Final Destination movie hit theaters, I was just 20 years old—young, optimistic, and completely unaware that “The Final Destination” (yes, that was the actual title) wouldn’t actually be the final one. That was back in 2009, and while the name suggested the franchise was calling it quits, let’s be honest—anyone familiar with Hollywood knew that probably wasn’t the end. And sure enough, just two years later, we got Final Destination 5 . Fast forward 14 years, and the series is back again. When you revive a franchise after such a long break, there’s usually some pressure to shake things up a bit—to prove there’s still life (and death) in the concept. And to its credit, this latest entry does tweak the formula slightly . It’s still very much the same Final Destination you remember, just with a few small twists to keep things feeling a bit fresh.
